If You Get Trapped

If you are ever trapped in a fire with no way to get out, you should close the doors between you and the fire, and stuff the cracks in the doors with blankets, sheets, and other things. Then you should signal to those outside through a window with a flashlight or a light colored sheet or blanket.

If there is a phone available, call the fire department and tell them exactly where you are (even if fire fighters are already on the scene). If for some reason your clothes catch on fire, stop where you are, drop to the ground, cover your face with your hands, and roll until it's out. If there is a lot of smoke, cover your nose and mouth with a wet towel or your shirt.
